Comments: When a member splits from a group, they use their own name. ie. Do Paul or Ringo call their bands the "Beatles", even if they own the rights to the name? Mr. Love realizes he needs the name to sell tickets.Flag -

Name: Ted on Dec 3, 2012Comments: In the words on the fabled Brian Wilson: "I was completely blindsided by his press release. I had no idea that it was coming out, since it was crafted by Mike's personal Pr firm without my knowledge or approval. No one in my camp would have approved it or the timing... I'm disappointed that Mike would now say that the release was done at the request of my representative... We hadn't even discussed as a band what we were going to do with all the offers that were coming in for more 50th shows. "While I appreciate the nice, cool things Mike said about me in his letter, and I do and always will love him as my cousin and bandmate, at the same time I'm still left wondering why he doesn't want to continue this great trip we're on. Al and I want to keep going because we believe we owe it to the music. That's it in a nutshell, all these conversations need to be between the shareholders, and I welcome Mike to call me."Flag

Think where you would have been - I think we all know.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Dec 4, 2012Comments: I've been listening to the music of the Beach Boys for many, many years. I can't describe the emotional impact they've made on me. Simply put, I feel like Brian Wilson - the true master and rightful owner of the Beach Boys name - was in touch with a cosmic sensibility that escapes most of our grasp. I think it is a perversion of this genius to allow Mike this opportunity for cash grabbing. I've seen a show with Mike Love and Bruce, so I speak from experience when I say that this is a bad decision.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Dec 5, 2012Comments: Mike, I cannot understand your decision. Just money? Come on. Everyone wants to hear the original Beach Boys - especially with Brian who was the muscial genus behind the band. Yeah, with your great lyrics, sure. But what about Al, David and Bruce. If you do a Beach Boys tour - certainly in England - without these three, it can never truly be a Beach Boys tour. Just Mike Love plus others. Best wishes. DavidFlag

Name: Gary Shirley on Dec 5, 2012Comments: I have already signed the petition, but after buying the DVD from the 50th anniversary tour, I'm compelled to write one more note to Mike. You can't be serious, Mike. This DVD is proof of how great you are together. Some of it brought tears to my eyes and there is nothing that you and Bruce alone could do to duplicate that feat. I have twice seen your stripped down version and only because my wife had never seen the Beach Boys and we made a last minute trip and you were there. Was it entertaining? Yes. Was it monumental? No. The reuonion tour was monumental! You are not going to live forever. Is this how you want to be remembered, the same way as The Grassroots, The Monkees, etc....., living off of your past rather than continuing your greatness? Please reconsider and go back to being the real Beach Boys.Flag

Name: Peggy Jones on Dec 5, 2012Comments: It is a crying shame that it takes a petition to show the love the fans have for the band and not what just one wants that ruins the fun for millions that have become adorned with the wonderful sound of the Beach Boys not a pretend sound of nostalgia lead by Mike Love and his henchband.Flag
