On September 21st, I came up with the idea to start a petition to Mike Love online to retain Al Jardine, Brian Wilson, and David Marks on all of the future dates along with the dates in October that Mike Love Scheduled along with Bruce Johnston.To promote that first day I emailed a few friends the link to the petition, and posted it up on a few facebook groups. I had about 18 signatures by the end of the day. I was thinking to myself that it was going nowhere and was not prepared what was about to happen next. An associate that runs Al Jardine's fan page posted the link to the petition up there and we almost hit 1,000 signatures by the next day. It gained a lot more momentum the next day, as the first media outlets began picking up the story of the Mike Love and Bruce Dates without the 3 other members, and also linking to the petition. Many media outlets got it wrong, however, saying that Al Jardine started the petition, which he did not. An...
