This petition is to stop Red-light camera ticket use or AT LEAST reform the way they operate. I live in Chicago, IL and there are red- light cameras at almost EVERY intersection. The time between yellow to red varies and is often nonexistent! Many times, you have the option of slamming on your brakes and causing an accident or going through a yellow light with the hopes of it not turning red before you get through! This is a new multi-million dollar industry for the government. And if you don't pay, they can suspend your license, boot your car, and even go into your bank and take your money! It is incredible what we let our elected officials get away with in order to raise revenue. At VERY LEAST, have a standard yellow to red light transition time and put a display on the lights of how much time is left. An easy solution to create a fair system.
