Name: Joelen Mulvaney on Feb 27, 2007Comments: All Vermont workers need a livable wage! While it is good to striving for a minimum is the capitalist way, the humanist way is to strive for the most, the best we can. Let Vermonters show the way to true equanimity by promoting the idea of a livable wage. The way to negin is by bringing tip workers up to a higher level. But let's not stop there!Flag

Name: Jeremiah King on Mar 2, 2007Comments: The service sector has become a larger part of our economy than manufacturing, and yet the wages in this sector of the lowest paid workers, tipped workers, remains in deadlock. We need to take immediate steps to help all the lowest paid workers up to a liveable wage as soon as possible, otherwise, we will have to pay more tax dollars to address crisis issues as our communites crumble.Flag

Name: Ron Pulcer on Mar 2, 2007Comments: This rate has not been increased in 3 years! Can the Legislators go without a raise in 3 years Given that wages in Vermont are low relative to some other states, it is unreasonable to think that all Vermonters are always able to tip an appropriate amount (even if they wanted to). Therefore the tipped wage workers should get some kind of a raise. Who can live on $3.65 per hour (+ tips) The gas prices are not going to come down anytime soon.Flag

Name: Nina Bartlett on Mar 3, 2007Comments: The state should be ashamed to have anyone receive $3.65 an hour. Tips are not guaranteed income and you need an established income to pay bills and raise a family. Consider a real hourly wage with no tips. Dishwashers receive no tips and they work hard. How about real wages for all for a changeFlag
