Name: Dr Frank Hentschker on Jun 9, 2011Comments: Finally, after many years, it looks like United States under the current administration realized that they no longer can afford to ignore the value that artistic and cultural engagement programs brought to the US by o foreign cultural policy initiatives. The work of the Theater Instituut Nederland was a pioneer of such cultural exchange and cultural diplomacy, in the US and around the world. Cutting funding for Theater Instituut Nederland would,be a serious loss of face for your great nation, its cultural heritage and its contemporary artists. I urge you to reconsider and reinstall the full funding so the Netherlands continue what they are so admired for centuries: being innovative, pioneering global citizens of the world. Sincerely; Dr. Frank Hentschker City University of New York Graduate Center CUNYFlag

Name: MICHELE PANELLA on Jun 9, 2011Comments: don't do what has been done in Italy in the last decade. Don't ruin the future for the next generation and don't make people stop thinking, enjoying, learning. Culture is a richness which grows minute after minute, bigger and bigger. Don't try to stop it: you will be a fool.Flag

Name: Helene Lesterlin on Jun 9, 2011Comments: As a curator for theater and dance, TIN has been an essential partner for discovering and meeting Dutch artists. I have worked now with the companies Kassys (twice) and Nicole Beutler, inviting them to perform here at EMPAC in the US, and I would hope to continue to have TIN as a resource in the future.Flag

Name: Rolf Hemke on Jun 9, 2011Comments: Ladies and gentlemen, we hear with the real astonishment the frightening news that the Dutch government tends to stop subsidizing TIN. TIN is a fantastic promoter for the arts in Netherland and outside, its a real professional cultural lobbyist for the Arts in the Netherlands and internationally. We would be very happy to have such a central, high profile communication tool for the theatre in Germany too. Only thinking about stopping TIN´s work is a horrible signal for the state of the arts and the awareness of the arts on the political stage in your country. We urgently ask you to reflect on this crucial decision and to maintain subsidizing TIN and its work for the profit of the Dutch arts and the Dutch image abroad.Flag

Name: Kate Newby on Jun 9, 2011Comments: As the director of a performing arts festival in Canada, I urge the Government of the Netherlands to continue to support the TIN. The Netherlands has always been a leader in artistic excellence world-wide and the TIN has long been a strong component in supporting the finest Dutch artists and companies. The arts are vital to the health of a country and its people. I urge the Government of the Netherlands to continue to provide artists, artistic companies and the TIN with sustainable support so that people in your homeland and around the world may benefit from Holland's wealth of artistic excellence. Sincerely, Kate Newby Director of the Calgary International Children's Festival, CanadaFlag

Name: Jana Robert on Jun 9, 2011Comments: How can a country so rich in culture over the last centuries let something like this happen? I urge you to keep every form of expression possibly imaginable alive and theatre is such an important medium to raise awareness, educate, raise questions, or simply for good quality entertainment! The Netherlands cannot afford to loose such an important institute to this art form!Flag

Name: Tilmann Broszat on Jun 9, 2011Comments: The TIN is Europe wide the most develloped and professional theatre institute, which provides scientific, artistic, educational and management research and information on the best level. To loose it, would mean to destroy one of the pillars of the professional theatre world in Europe.Flag
