Don't let the curtain go down on TIN
We are shocked to hear that the Government of the Netherlands intends to stop funding Theater Instituut Nederland (TIN). Over the decades, TIN has proved itself to be an outstanding ambassador for the Dutch performing arts and it is the centre for expertise and information on, and for, Dutch theatre. Thanks to TIN, the Netherlands plays a significant role on the international stage.
Theater Instituut Nederland is also a dedicated curator of the history and future of the performing arts and manages a theatre collection that is unique in Europe. Don’t let the curtain go down on TIN!

We would like to thank you very much for signing our petition, the letters to our government and all the other ways in which you have called for the TIN to be saved.
On Monday 20th June, we presented the parliamentary culture committee with 18,000 signatures. In the debate on 27th June on the proposed cuts, it became clear that the TIN will not receive any subsidy from the budget for art and culture after 2012. However, we have been given the chance to apply for subsidy next year as cultural heritage in order to continue in 2013 as a theatre museum.

KEEP IT OPEN. How can they just close such an important archive?? so sad to see this happen to Dutch theatre.
Unbelievable. The amount of knowledge stored there is irreplaceable. Once it is gone it is gone forever. Keep funding the TIN!
This is ridiculous. Such a huge part of our culture and history just being cut? Stop wasting money on nonsense and keep the TIN open.
Cultural vandalism. Simple as that.
The government has no idea what they are throwing away. My grandad worked in the industry for years and this place matters.

i need these resources for my studies and honestly where else is going to house all this history properly? do better.
