Janice De Sousa | They should be put in prison for life without any parole regardless if their actions are due to a mental illness.
Colleen Paterick | Iam a mother and if something like this happened to my child just think of what you would have to go through for the rest of your life thinking about your childs last moments and what they went through and the chance, even though slim, of it happening to someone else is, why take that chance!!
Anonymous | The murderer, should satay in hospital for life or be transferred to prison after he has been rehabilited.

C. Kessel | If you commit the crime you do the time and for the terrible thing that was done to this young man the criminal should never see the light of day again. There are doctors who would say he is mentally unfit and did not know what he was doing. Sorry he knew exactly what he was doing
Anonymous | I think this is very important! Although the local jails is no place for someone who is found to be criminally insane, anyone who takes another innocent life should be locked up and not allowed an annual review. I am not sure that someone who is suffering from a mental disability has the ability to premeditate bringing a knife on a bus and stabbing and dismembering someone. That seems a little bit fishy..but at the end of the day, this incident did occur, and lets see what we can to change the future so that more innocent victims are not taken from this life!!

Steve Woolfrey | It is an outrage that one can get away with murder by virtue of being free to walk the streets while mentally incompetent to do so
Better still, bring back the death penalty
lisa reichel | This is wrong and justice needs to be served!! I have bipolar does this give me the licence now to get away with murder? "what is Cannada coming too"???

Marienne Andersson | I think this is a most reasonable law and that it holds the person accountable for their actions. Regardless of mental state, they are responsible for not taking pills etc. and the families of them should also be somewhat accountable. In todays wimpy society, someone has to stand up for the victims. Where is their closure, where is their justice, and who is accountable for their loss.???
