City of Timmins Multi-Purpose Sports Complex
Many Timmins residents feel that recreation is the backbone of a growing community. Having a high quality of life and having opportunities for people of all ages to stay active within the community is crucial to the success and growth of a city. Our current facilities are aging with the youngest being 29 years old and the oldest being 73 years old. Two of the four municipal arenas have a condition rating of poor and one has a condition rating of fair. Only one arena has a good condition rating. According to a study completed and submitted to the previous council, the current facilities will require over $14 million in maintenance upgrades over the next 10 years. Wouldn't this money be better spent helping to build a new modern multi-purpose facility?
