1 Jessica DaSilva MedeirosI FIRMLY believe that this BMX track should be allowed to stay open and be used by the community. Not just because Tim is my brother, but because I believe in Tim's dream!
2 Nicky PearsonKeep this track open - amateur sports needs this! Tim was a man with a dream - a dream to provide a facility for amateur athletes in Halton Hills.

9 Tracey NowlanThis track means alot to my family as well as other people in this community..If it wasnt for this track being built where would our children be able to race...We want our children to be in fit and be in sports of some sort...BMX racing is what these children love to do and they need another track to go and race...I can personally say that Im glad that my son is not roaming the streets in Milton nor running around at the mall.He loves racing and with Timmy being a big brother to him this track means alot to my son to keep it open...Dont destroy these kids enjoyment...We are all good people and we are not rowdy crowd...I am proud to be living in Milton but this totally disgusts me knowing that our kids can not have Tims track to race...Please let it stay open for my sake, our childrens sake, the Dasilvas family sake and most of all Timmys sake..This is his dream please do not ruin it for us all....thank you Tracey Nowlan

20 Jeff SylvahAround 7 years ago i was introduced to a sport that most people would call crazy. To most people BMX is about jumping bikes and going fast. That is what I had always imagined when I heard people talking about BMX. I can still remember my first night of racing. My parents told me that we were just going to check it out and I didn't have to try it if I didn't want to. On the ride up there I saw only one white puffy cloud in the sky and i was convinced it was going to rain. I knew if it rained there would be no chance of me having to try out the track. My parents told me in a sarcastic voice that "it will probobly blow over." When we finally arrived at the track I was introduced to one of the most wonderfull ladies I have ever met. Her name was Nicky Pearson. Nicky then introduced me to her sons Kyle and Brady, and then I met Tim. Being only 11 years old, i have to admit i was pretty intimidated by Tim. He was covered in dirt and his arms and legs were covered in scabs. i was pretty frightened of this teenager who i had never met and I was told he would be giving me a lesson in BMX Racing. I couldn't say no to this guy so I went along for the ride. Befor I left home to go to the track I told my parents there was no way I was going to ride that night. 2 hours latre i had done 30 laps of the track and I still wanted to do more. I returned the next week to get some more practice and sure enough there was Timmy waiting to give me my next lesson. It didn't take long for me to realize that I was not only a part of the Track 2000 Club, I was a part of the Track 2000 Family. No matter who you were or how fast you could ride, you were a part of the family. If ther was one thing I learned from Tim in my weekly lessons, it was not the proper way to position your feet befor approaching a jump, or how to use your arms and legs like shocks on a mountain bike, it was that all you have to do is believe in your self and have fun. Being an 11 year old kid with Tourette Syndrome it was hard for me to make friends or be on a baseball team and work with other kids who were better at the game than I was. But to be able to hang out with one of the best BMX Racers in the area and be called his friend ment the world to me. Timmy didn't make this track for himself. He made it for all the kids who didn't believe in themselves, for all the kids who needed to escape from the life of crime, drugs and alcohol, and for the kid who was afraid of the only puffy cloud in the sky. And whenever that kids travels to the track where his life changed, he always looks up in the same spot where that puffy cloud use to be and knows that one of his best friends is on that cloud looking down at him saying " this storm wont be blowing over any time soon buddy." Taking Tims track away from the community more than likely won't effect the daily life of any of the members of the NEC, but it will will effect the kids that need your help, that need Tims help. Turning down Tims track means that you are turning dow the hopes and dreams of you kids from all over. Weather they are very young, or they are teens, or they are kids with special needs, you can either decide to go on with your day and not let this effect you or you can do somthing good and make this a part of you life and share the hope and love that my friend Timmy has shared with all of us. Make a difference. Keep the Tim DaSilva BMX Track open and I asure you, you will not regret it. Thank you Jeff Sylvah Burlington Ont. Age 18
21 Manny MarquesI have seen the eyes of the kids brighten up when they see this track....their are far too little places like this where kids can meet, have fun, keep fit...and most of all, keep busy. Not only for the memory of Tim DaSilva, but for the kids...please keep this track open

40 Campbell MillikenThis is why you constantly hear the question " what is wrong with the world"?
41 Judy HoustonNiagara Escarpment Commission. Please rethink the closing of the BMX track on land belonging to Halton Place. This recent move by the NEC is surprising, given the fact of the dwindling recreational areas available to youth in Milton and surrounding area since the town's unprecedented growth. One can hardly imagine how bikes could impact the escarpment negatively. Please grant a permit so these young people can continue to enjoy the benefits this unique sport has to offer. Thank you.

44 AnonymousLeave the track for a safe place to play for the youth. It keeps them off the trails whre there is a longer emergency response time and off the streets where more accidents occure. Also BMX provides a natural high that has helped addict's through their addictions and enjpy the sport and life sober. Let the Track live and Tims dream stay alive.
