Restore the Tidal Flow to the Blackwall Tunnel

The petition

The Police and TfL have arbitrarily decided that the Tidal Flow scheme which has been in place for 30 years in the Blackwall Tunnel is now dangerous and should be discontinued. This is just after a full and very costly refit of the equipment that is used to control the scheme. This decision will mean that drivers will face an increase of upto 1 hour on their northbound journey through the tunnel in the morning peak. The justification is that drivers (in a very well monitored tunnel) are driving dangerously, which should surely be the subject of Police prosecution! The costs to business and the environment due to queuing vehicles and delay will be enormous! Petition to restore the Tidal Flow Scheme today.
