Name: John Maguire on Jun 25, 2007Comments: We must retain the name. Thomond Park and the history that goes with that name is a crucial part of what makes the Munster ethos. Munster rugby is about tradition and history. The renaming of Thomond Park would be a betrayal of all munster fans tantamount to a corporate sellout!Flag

Name: Celia Keogh on Jun 25, 2007Comments: Not to put too fine a point on it but this is the begining of the end. How cab this even be considered a slightly appropriate answer to ant problem yet we are following our Governments lead in selling and destroying our history in the name of progress. Munster rugby is what it is because it is built on a sense of community. Famous the world over as all levels of income play and have access to it...we are now moving into an era of complete captialism what price our soles... by all means sell naming rights to the stands in the new stadium let them be the Toyota stand, The Addias Stand, The Bank of Ireland Terrace etc. Lets not allow the ant y further erosion of this countrys history and heritage they might as well have built a new stadium as do this in fact I would have preferred that... first the hill of Tara, now Thomond Park modern ireland appears to be about the sacrificing of all our myths and legends and I for one cannot stand by and just watch this happen as much as the powers that be may want us to put up and shut up. Trouble is they think that they will fill it either way but this is not a given, alot of current support is the prawn sandwich gang who are there as it is the place to be at the moment (those who argure nothing will change as a reslut of a name change -nothing will change for them as it means nothing to them!!!!!!!!!!!) however listen to those who have been there through thick and thin and who will remain there after the bubble has brust and the stadium is being named after some 2 bit company as money has dried up...have a heart save thomond ParkFlag
