Congress needs to gets some balls!

Pass a bill on term limits for all federal jobs.. Ban lobbying of government officials at all levels. Make it treason for any government official (outside of the state dept) to have relations with foreign governments.

Here are some ideas on how to fix the economy: We need to institute the "fair tax" system. What do I mean by this? The "fair tax" will be a sales tax on all purchases. That means food, liquor, drugs, clothing, houses, boats, cars, travel, hotel, meals, rentals, personal services (hair, nails, massages, ) construction and repair services (plumbers, electricians, painters, etc). Eliminate all federal, State, county, and city taxes. Monies should be redistributed to states based solely on population census. No stealing from the rich. This is fair because everyone pays.

How to make it work: We must change from a cash system to a pure electronic payment system.

1: Every American should have a purchase card issued like a drivers license. Retailers and service providers will not have to maintain useless records. The tax will be withdrawn and directly deposited into the US treasury. This will result in much lower taxes for the middle class, and much higher taxes for the wealthy. This will eliminate the need for the hugely wasteful IRS. This will eliminate tax cheats. This will eliminate the need for tens of thousands of tax lawyers. This will eliminate the need for tens of thousands of court cases. This will create jobs, by manufacturing the cards. This will create jobs in software companies. All work related to this must be required to be done domestically. The government will save billions by closing the mints. Counter-fitters will be out of business. more law enforcement savings. 

2. Legalize recreational drugs. This will eliminate hundreds of thousands of prison cells in the US. This will generate Billions of dollars in revenue for the government. This will eliminate billions spent on law enforcement.

3. Levy 30% import duty on all products from all countries. No exceptions. This will bring manufacturing back to our soil. Yes, this will cause a raise in prices, but since we will not be paying income tax, it will work. US based companies will bring back millions of jobs that they exported. Fine US based companies that purchase products from abroad that they could purchase here.

4. Enforce current immigration laws. When illegal's arrive to get their purchasing card, deport them. They won't stay if they can't get what they need. They won't stay if they cannot send dollars back to their "home". We cannot afford to be the world's welfare provider.

5. Health care We need to have uniform rules state to state. (No pre-existing conditions exemptions). Get tort reform done. We need to stop states from prohibiting competition. Prices will go down if there is competition. We have health care in the US. People will be able to afford it if they have good jobs. Medicare "part b" is a rip-of for seniors. Meld all government funded health-care plans into one uniform system. Medicare, military, and government retirement systems. Stop the AMA from blocking new medical schools to keep the doctor supply low. They just want to keep their income in the stratosphere. Get some control of dental costs.

6. Reduce the size of government.

6A. Eliminate the IRS. 

6B Reduce the number of appointees that elected officials can make.

6C. Sell the post office and let it be run efficiently by private enterprise.

6D. Sell all prisons and let them be run by private enterprise.

6E. Eliminate all past and future double retirement benefits.

6F. Eliminate the Parks department. We can have private companies run our parks.

6G. Reform the supreme court. Eliminate the "appointment" process. Make them run for 6 year terms. Eliminate their power to make laws. Require that they retire by age 72.

Greed and corruption is why this country is in trouble. We need elected officials that are responsive to the short and long term needs of all Americans. Passing laws to placate special interest groups has gone on way too long. If you want to discuss this further, I am always willing to listen to logical arguments. Energy Independence will also be crucial to rebuilding our economy. We need to invest heavily into clean renewable energy. I am talking about wind, solar and wave power. The approval process right now is absurb. In Massachusetts, we have to get permission from a tribe of less than 200 margianlly native Americans (this is nuts).

Education:

American students are falling behind other industrial nations. Expand the school year.

Extend public eduation to at least junior college level (or 2 year trade school).

Make history a subject that requires a paasing grade along with math and English to achieve graduation. Computer knowledge is great, but our children are ignorant about the past.

English:

This country will save billions of dollars if we pass an English only bill.

All immigrants must speak English before they can become naturalized citizens. No drivers licence until they comply. No purchasing card until they comply. No foreign language signs allowed anywhere. No foreign language broadcasts or newspapers allowed.

 Casinos:

Lets put the Americam Indians out of business. Reform gambling legislation. Let any legal enterprise open casinos. If people want to give their money away, let them. lets allow casinos to operate in America and tax the spending like any other purchase. Why do we allow Indian tribes backed by huge corporations to operate within our borders and fleece our public.
