Name: Jon Pritchard on Oct 4, 2012Comments: This process needs to be clear and transparent. At present what we have seen has been an exercise in how not to conduct a consultation. If this consultation exercise was an exam it would not even meet a grade. Something needs to be done and that is why I am supporting this petition.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Oct 4, 2012Comments: When I went to this school it was in special measures and our uniform was blazers and ties. That made no difference to how well I did as what you wear doesn't change your attitude to education. You do as well as you want to! To decide to change this school to an academy status without consulting all those concerned and affected by the changes is ludicrous!! This school has its problems - and lots of them. I have been left for many years now but still hear of the same problems as it had when I was there. Surely instead of changing the uniform and name of a school you should be looking at how to better the school as a whole for staff and students. From what I hear the children who attend this school have forgotten they go to school for an education, they show staff very little respect and walk around thinking it is okay and acceptable to do what they please when they please and are disrespectful because they don't like doing something. Maybe the focus should be to show them to grow up and get your head down. Because in the real world you need an education. And you have to do things you don't like on a daily basis. That's life. And if people think the major positives of becoming an academy mean a new uniform - you have a lot to learn!! Anyone ever asked the staff what they truthfully think would push the school forward? Perhaps that'd be nice?Flag
