This petition is calling for the dismissal of Iain Duncan Smith on the grounds of gross negligence and incompetence. The creator of this petition presents the following details to you and lets the information speak for itself.
The creation and introduction of Universal Credit still has
not yielded any real term results as promise, fact is it never could. The
computer system is still not running in the manner it should, on the day of its
launch it could not save peoples details as it had nowhere to save them to.
We must also remember that it is estimated, by our government, that the cost of
implement the Universal Credit system will be six time higher than originally
planed. Making the overall cost £12.8bn, not the £2.2bn plan stated by Mr.
Duncan Smith.
Keep in mind that on December 9th 2013, a select committee was informed that £40.1m spent on software and computer systems was written off as a loss. Can this be seen as acceptable?
Finally, remember that all expected targets, of any kind, have not been matched, will not be matched or cannot be matched.
In January 2014, 9 months after the launch of the Bedroom tax, it came to light that the Department of Work and Pensions ministry had not given out all of the correct details to local authorities. This led to a large number of people, who had lived in their homes for 17 years or more, being charged when they should have been exempt.
At the time Iain Duncan Smith or anyone for the ministry of
DWP has not given any comment, the local authorities are asking for the funding
to repay these people but are waiting for central government to respond.
If we move onto the changes to the Job Seekers Allowance, we find some of these
make little if any sense.
At the current time jobseekers are no longer given a fix number of jobs to apply for. Instead they go away apply for jobs, mainly using Universal Job Match (more on this shortly), keep a record of their activity to take back. Then a JSA advisor will decide if they have done enough to claim benefits. Where do you begin with the problems here?
First this is not really a neutral system, as it relies on opinion from one person. One week they like you, you get paid. Next week, their partner has left and they hate everything about the world, see the point? Also, I fail to see how this strategy copes with benefit cheats, it does nothing to address this problem. As for the Job Match site, it is limited at best, without recruitment agencies there is almost nothing to search, and the database search parameters are so narrow it’s would be funny under any other conditions.
Quick tip, don’t look for work on a bank holiday as the DWP don’t belief it is possible, so they won’t count it. I know, but despite having their own Universal Job Match website they still believe you can’t look for work on a bank holiday, they said this to some one I know.
Do we need to discuss ATOS? Should we just demand a public enquiry to start at the soonest possible date?
Anything written here is correct, so either you agree with me and it is time for Iain Duncan Smith to be removed from his post or you don’t. Ask yourself at what point do we speak to stop the poor becoming poorer. If you’re thinking that a lot of money go on JSA and other benefits for the unemployed, your right! But more goes on in work benefits.
Maybe you need to look behind the lies and propaganda of Iain Duncan Smith, find the truth for yourself then decide if I am being unreasonable in my stance.
