Name: Meg Johnson on Mar 4, 2013Comments: It would be devastating to our family if our services with therapists our child has bonded with, were to stop. Young children need consistency, and to feel safe. This is achieved much better with therapists who have known them individually.Flag

Name: Liz Leff on Mar 4, 2013Comments: The Department of Education does nothing but cause problems for the children of New York. They delayed the RSA process due to negligence and incompetency and now they want to interfere with the incredible and positive results Theraplay has given to all our children. It is not acceptable to change to a new therapist at this point in time.Flag

Name: Melissa Kaye on Mar 4, 2013Comments: Please allow my children to continue to attend Theraplay, they are receiving high quality services that are greatly needed for their developmental delays (twins born prematurely). It is within walking distance to our home and their school. It would be detrimental for them to leave their current placement where they know their therapists and are able to receive cohesive treatment. Thank you, Melissa Kaye mother to b/g twins born 7/31/09Flag

Name: Ann Spindler on Mar 4, 2013Comments: It would be most efficient and effective for our children to continue working with the same approved therapist(s) from year to year. This arrangement would also be most beneficial andefficient for the DOE. There is no reason why our children have to have their services delayed and/or interrupted. It is the continuity of the services on a regular schedule that will achieve the greatest results. Furthermore, under the current regulations, children who attend a private school are essentially penalized. With all of the delays that we faced in obtaining our RSAs,our children will not receive all of the hours of service that they were entitled to. Private school children and Public school children should be treated equally. Services should be provided for a certain number of sessions for a designated number of weeks, so that children in both public and private school receive the same number of hours during the academic year.Flag
