White Lady Funerals needs to learn a thing or two about about life. Who names a company 'White lady Funerals'? That's two forms of discrimination in one ABN. Disgraceful. They won't get away with it ooohhh no. Not on my watch.
Last week I was jogging past the local primary school, (I was supposed to drop off my tomato chutney for their school fete, but I completely forgot to bring the jars with me) I passed the local church (I've never been one for religion, but sometimes there's a handsome groom lurking about) so I poked my head in. To my horror, I saw a mob of White Ladies. They were laying out flowers (all white) and listening Wagner.
Please sign my petition. I'm suggesting they change their name to 'Black & White Men & Women Funerals', but that's only a suggestion. Perhaps they should rule out ethnicity and gender all together. They could name themselves after a native animal, plant or a even great Australian, Dr Victor Chang, Yvonne Goolagong and Marcia Hines spring to mind. Why Not? |

Percy Stubbs is a long time gay, first time activist. In fact, he only came out of the closet last week when his partner of 30 years passed away due to an agressive fungal infection.
Percy lived an everyday life, he worked for Queensland Rail for nearly 45 years and only took one day off. Retiring Last year at the age 58, Percy is now enjoying a decade's worth of long service leave.
Percy only told his wife Martha that he was gay on Thursday. She took the news remarkably well stating 'Well, I was kind of relieved in a way, I thought I was doing something wrong. We have 12 kids and all, but ooh geez, it was like getting blood out of a stone some nights'. Percy still shares the bed with Martha (he's the spooner). |
