Mitchells and Butlers has officially withdrawn their notice to take possession of the building. This outcome secures the future of The Engineer under its current management. We will monitor the site to ensure the terms of this agreement remain fully honored.

Final supporters
The Engineer has been operated by Tamsin Olivier and Abigail Osborne since 1994 with their personality at the heart of the business. They opened with a collective desire to create London's first and finest Gastro Pub that now has an enviable requtation for exquisite food and drink, supplied by small independent producers that is wholly seasonal.
The Engineer is loved by locals and celebrities alike, aswell as people who go out of their way to frequent their 'local' sometimes coming from as far afield as The City for a pint and a bite on their way home!
As you will already know the future of The Engineer and everything it stands for is seriously threatened as the landlords Mitchells and Butlers intend to take occupation and possession for the purposes of their own business i.e. a managed house or as a franchise as part of their estate of 1,600 pubs which include the brands Harvester, Toby Carvery and O'Neill's.
Thank you for your interest in speaking out against this unfair decision that contradicts the unique and independent character of Primrose Hill and its 'uncorporate spirit.' We hope that with your impassioned support and love of our Engineer that Mitchells and Butlers, as a corporate behemoth, will realise that they are unable to replicate the true personality and spirit of a long-standing, independently run institution.

The Engineer is a gem. The food is always amazing and the staff make it what it is. A corporate takeover would ruin everything special about it.
NOOOO not the engineer. Seriously keep the big chains out of our neighborhood.
Keep the heart of Primrose Hill alive. We dont need another soulless chain pub in the area. Leave them be!
Been going here for years. You cant just replace 20 years of history with a Toby Carvery. Disgraceful move.

I used to go here every Sunday with my family. It has such a unique vibe that you just wont get from a managed house. Hands off.
