   Comments: The Common Place is an essential venue for DIY activity in Leeds, promoting diversity and participation in all areas of the community. It is vital that this place stays open. In addition, the entertainments license is vital for its continuing synergy with the Leeds DIY music and Arts scene. Don't make Leeds a boring place to be! Support your local artists and musicians by supporting the place they want to be.

   Comments: The Common Place provides a much needed alternative venue in the city center for artists, musicians, filmmakers and interest groups of a huge variety. Without its license the Common Place cannot be the center for what makes Leeds a vibrant and interesting place to live--it's grassroots community. We need more not less support from City Council for organizations such as the common place. Without it our lives would be as grey as the weather. Thank you for overturning your decision. This serves a very pleasant resource for people who want to be part of a peaceful and constructive movement that promotes free thought and enterprise. It is used not only by people of left-wing political persuasion but also environmentalists and other liberal-minded groups. It is a great loss to the city. Shame on you!!!

    Comments: This seems rather harsh treatment for a place that simply provides a space for groups that otherwise would have nowhere to go. It's not just the money (although it could well result in closing them down), by banning half of the events that make it what it is, you reduce it to the merest shadow of itself, and then people stop going there, and then it closes down anyway. Or maybe that's what you want...

    Comments: The Common Place is a vital community resource in Leeds. When I lived in Leeds the social centre was a place of inspiration and a gateway to involvement in the local community. It is irresponsible of the council to revoke the licence and it should be reinstated immediately.
