The Blue hole is located in the northern part of Dahab, Egypt. It is a unique, amazing site for diving and snorkeling, one of only three blue holes in all the world. The depth of this blue hole is between 100 to 110 meters deep and it is close to the shore and the visibility is around 30 meters. The Blue hole was formed by an earthquake thousands of years ago and was discovered just a couple of hundred years ago but now this site is under serious threat. Below are the immediate dangers that are threatening Blue hole: 1.People destroying the corals by walking on the reef or divers touching the coral. 2.Plastic bags and other rubbish are thrown in the sea and stuck on the coral. 3. The Blue hole is badly managed and this needs to change. 4. Police men are typically just sitting in the area, doing nothing to improve the situation. 5. Huge groups from Sharm el Sheikh are coming every day without snorkeling guide which means risking their safety as well as damaging the Blue hole. 6. People are feeding the fish, resulting in the gradual death of the coral as it is the natural food for the fish. 7. The extreme crowds in Blue hole are destroying the whole area. 8. As there are no entrance tickets to the Blue hole it causes a lot of people to come who really dont care about the site. Time is running out and we need to act fast now before it is too late. There are experts who would be more than willing to come with practical suggestions on how to save the Blue hole if they had the opportunity to do so. I ask everyone who wants to see an end to the death of the corals in the Blue hole and the environment around the site to sign this petition. When a large enough amount of people have signed, I will send it to the Ministry of Tourism in Egypt. Haythem Tealab
