| 53 | Anonymous | GREAT MOVIE!!
GREAT UMA!! |

Martin Denham | There has been a steady increase in the number of 'original' or Directors versions released on DVD. Recently we've seen Richard Donner's 'Superman 2' and Brian Helgaland's 'Payback'. Maybe 'The Avengers' isn't too far behind...
Heather Moe |
Tom Ramsbottom |
Anthony Drown | There is loads of great, weird stuff that didn't make it in to the movie. Put it all back!!
DAN MARTIN | So glad I've found I'm not the only one who is desperate to see how the film should look as per the excellent trailer/screenplay. Who do we need to hassle to get a proper 2nd chance release? A 10th anniversary deluxe edition DVD next year would be super. Anyone agree. Feel free to email me to discuss further. Oh... and fingers crossed!
| 61 | Gary Gladney | I would definitely like to see a fully restored director's
cut of the movie The Avengers. |
lorraine lou | please can someone contact warner bros to let them know that people have money to give them for simply releasing a version of this film which no doubt is just sitting there gathering dust in their vaults. 10 th anniversary release would make sense don't you think? i want to see the story as it was meant to be seen i.e. not hacked to pieces so much that some bits don't even make sense. ps. did anyone notice roger lloyd-pack (trigger from only fools & horses) in the trailer? wonder what he had to say about being cut out of the film completely!
ricky hodgson | 150 minutes cut down to just 89 minutes? this film deserves to have the deleted material reinstated & given back to the public the way we deserved it originally.
Jedibobster | Yes, definitely. I enjoyed the original cut but always felt their was more out there that perhaps should have been in. I'd buy it.
Lee Caskey | I think this movie got a bad rap because changes made in order to pander to too many critics. Release the real cut and let's see what could have been.
Fred Alexander | So much has been written about the poor editing, it would certainly be good to see what was intended. Thanks for your consideratoin
Jett | The movie deserves an uncut release on DVD. Let the public see the film as it was intended to be seen. Not the version some bumbling nutt at Warner decided to release !
Toby | Check out this Avengers movie web site http://homepage.ntlworld.com/avenger98 join its forum and release the directors cut on DVD next year.
Nicholas Porteous | I would buy it.
Scott Lynch |
Sammy Murrian | This is a must. The movie is a cult classic. You would be surprised...
Erwin Tang Yew Hon | Nothing more coz I just like the movie!
Jamie Halliwell |
Henry Taylor |
John Osbourn | We want the Directors cut of The Avengers relesaed.
alan | would love to see this
Paul | I thought that this was a great movie and I would be interested in seeing an extended/director's cut of the movie.
Steed3003 | Webmaster of the French website Le Monde des Avengers
Alexis Henaux | We hope to see the movie in the complete version...
TRAVIS FRECKLETON |
Jamie Glazebrook | Could be intriguing, seems like it was a fun film and when it tested badly everyone lost their nerve - but I remember 6 montsh before the release when everyone at Warners was excited about it!
corey newcombe | i think due to the terrible cuts and criticism the film gained on it's initial release, i think it's only fair that we see the original version. with the advent of blu-ray and hd-dvd, i think a profit would be made just from the public buying it for 'quirkiness'
Dan Evesleigh | I love love love this movie! It's look is so unique. It desperately needs the deleted footage put back in so the story makes complete sense. The whole BAD EMMA thing woule be much clearer. The trailer shows a heck of alot of deleted bits. I would be very surprised if the trailer isn't on youtube or somewhere else on the net. ps. Does anyone know how to contact JERRY WEINTRAUB or JEREMIAH CHECHNIK? These 2 would have to get on board to convince Warners to release a director's cut dvd.

Alan Hayes | Surely enough water has flowed under enough bridges by now that Warners can acknowledge they made an error of judgement with this movie, and reinstate the excised footage. Despite it's bad reviews and wholly undeserved and inaccurate "worst movie of all time" reputation, I really enjoy The Avengers movie and would leap at the chance to see a proper edit of the film released, preferably on one or both of the HD formats.

Lance G. | I remember seeing this in theatres during the summer when I was 10 years old. I don't really remember a whole lot of it but I would really love to see it again after reading up about it over time. A panicked Warner Bros. cut over an hour's worth of footage from it after a test screening at the last second before the film's release. That is just completely fucking ridiculous. A 2 1/2 hour movie was hacked down to less than 1 1/2 hours in a sad attempt to maximize the showings over its opening weekend and squeeze as much cash out of that as they could before word-of-mouth and negative reviews sank it. Come on, though, when you cut out over an hour of running time for any movie how can you honestly expect it to do well financially or critically? And not only that but being totally okay with releasing a formerly complex movie that now makes no sense to the moviegoing public? They're not stupid, as the theatrical grosses for the movie can attest. They wittingly killed off any and all chances of the film's success with the last minute hack job. I really wanna see the movie as filmed. I would pay to see it again on a Director's Cut DVD. How many other people would, just out of sheer curiosity? It could be nothing but a substantial improvement over it's theatrical form. Come on, do the math and revert to your money-grubbing ways by releasing a new DVD for this movie and squeezing out more money from a movie you had written off years ago. GIVE ME THE AVENGERS AS IT WAS MEANT TO BE SEEN!!! I WANT MORE UMA! MORE FIENNES! AND DEFINITELY MORE CONNERY!!! Especially seeing as that bastard has now pretty much officially retired from acting and won't even return as Dr. Henry Jones, Sr. in Indy 4!!!
Anonymous | I loved the film but i believe that the extented edition would be even better!
Tim Evans | Really enjoyed it originally, but much of it made little or no sense! This should remedy that. I also really want to see the Evil Emma Peel hinted at in the trailer.
Rohan Spong | Clearly the opening sequence needs to be reinstated so that the audience has a greater sense of mystery about whether to trust Mrs Peel. The footage does exist! Please release it!
Mike Hickman |

Anonymous | Directors cut and documentary and deleted scenes, the whole works please!!!
Calum | A full unedited rerelease of this unusual movie is very much needed. Had it been left in tact i'm sure the film would have faired better than it did. It's a fun piece of cinema, we deserve to see the film as it was intended to be seen.
Russell Claus | Sure, why not. The movie sucked. An extended cut can't be any worse can it?
Tom Jones | Please put especially the whole Propore destruction scene back to the movie!
Jason | The finished film was bruised, but I can teel that there was a superior movie prior to all that butchering!
Janis |
