This is a petition statement outlining our dissatisfaction with the the JSB174 Forensic Psychology and the Law exam. We wholeheartedly believe that the exam was not a true reflection of the content that was taught throughout the semester. First and foremost, many of the questions on the exam were not based on the lectures. Secondly, we feel that the Questions relating to the set readings were virtually impossible to remember (unless you have an eidetic memory). Many students put in a lot of time and effort to attend lectures, tutorials and to study for the exam. Unfortunately, we and now feel disappointed that it was a waste of time and effort.
I have been reading through the comments and seeing how many of you felt blindsided by questions that simply did not align with our coursework. It is frustrating to realize that your hard work throughout the semester was not respected by the examiners. I am currently gathering these experiences to present a clear case to the department regarding how unfair this assessment process was.

Seeing this much support for our cause fills me with a sense of relief that we are finally being taken seriously. I have spent so many sleepless nights worrying about the unfairness of this exam but your stories confirm that I am not alone in this frustration.

Worst exam I have ever sat. Questions were poorly worded and super obscure. sort it out.

Ridiculous difficulty level. You cant expect us to memorize every single footnote in the textbook readings when the lectures focused on something else completely.

Waste of time. I put in so many hours for this unit and this exam just felt like a trap instead of testing our actual knowledge.

The exam was absolutely nothing like the practice questions we went over. Felt like I was reading a different language for half of it.

completely unfair. studied for weeks and none of that material was even relevant to the test. what a joke.
