The ReNEU Campaign
We strongly urge the NEU Student Government Association at Northeastern University to create a more recycling accessible campus. The ReNEU Campaign aims to introduce more recycling facilities to academic and residential buildings. Our goal is to subsequently increase the occurrence and convenience of recycling, as well as reduce the overall amount of waste disposed.
The
average college student will produce 640 pounds of waste every year. The amount
of office paper wasted each year just in Massachusetts is enough to fill Fenway
Park to the height of the Prudential Building. We believe that allocating funds
for an on-campus recycling revolution will not only reduce the amount of waste
generated at the university, but also improve and influence the conventional
recycling customs in the entire city of Boston.
ReNEU’s purpose is to advocate for an increase in recycling facilities in university buildings, to increase accessibility for uncommon recycling facilities, and to better educate the public about the nuances of personal waste management. We can demonstrate the importance of our cause to the administration through tangible support; change starts with a signature.
