We address this petition to all peoples who inhabit the United States of America, to the state government of North Dakota, to the administration of the University of North Dakota, and to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). At this important time in our political history, we have an important request. Please embrace this message from the real Sioux of North Dakota: Save the Fighting Sioux name and logo for regular and respectful use by the University of North Dakota (Grand Forks, ND).

At the state level, we continue to be involved in a political battle to save an important symbolic element of our legacy in the visible life of both education and athletics in North Dakota. Although many of North Dakota's residents support the Fighting Sioux name and logo, we are facing political correctness, political cowardice, and media ignorance. Because of the scope of the issue at hand and the national standing of the University of North Dakota, we are proactively turning our communicative efforts to a larger audience! Your signature here DOES NOT go toward our ongoing petitioning efforts within the state of North Dakota. This online petition is meant to send a strong message to the NCAA, to the media, to the university, to the politicians, and to the people. Anyone who reads this online petition may sign this online petition.

Please sign and share this petition! Thank you.
