For a long time Nigerians had to put up with the burden of buying internet plans at unreasonably expensive prices, it was seen as a luxury used only by the rich, we all let out a collective sigh of relief when our network service providers realised the importance of the internet and decided to drastically reduce prices, more people had access to the internet, particularly business owners and people who needed this for important things such as networking and research, even with this, it was still hard for a lot of people to afford these plans. Still people in rural communities can barely afford this plans.

It's a very uneducated and extremely unfair move by the NIGERIAN government to demand that network service providers increase the prices of data plans because it would be profitable to them without considering the burden this would put on us it's citizen considering the fact that we are already in a state of recession, the internet is a source of power, what else is information if not power? The government promised to provide free internet for the youth when they were campaigning for our votes, we never complained when they didn't meet up with this promise. But now we must speak out.

We therefore demand the government scrap this idea, The internet is not a luxury, it is a Necessity for social change and growth. LEAVE OUR INTERNET ALONE!
