Bullying is an incredibly huge problem in schools throughout the United States. The Weinstein Company has produced a documentary highlighting the effects and victims of bullying in the schools. It is an important movie, and schools over the country have organized trips to go see it, hoping kids will see the effects of bullying, or that those who are bullied find hope and peace. However, the MPAA(who rate movies for distribution in the U.S.) have deemed the movie deserving of an R rating, due to coarse language delivered by interviewed students. Because of this, schools have had to cancel their trips and many children will not be able to see this movie, be it because their parents won't allow it, or because they won't be able to see the movie alone. This petition requests support in favor of lowering the movie's rating, so that children in middle and high schools can see this documentary. I also encourage submissions of stories about bullying to the following email address -> nickjacksonD@gmail.com so that they may be shared when presenting this petition.
