When I saw the art work depicting Margaret Thatcher in the Welsh assembly building, I was lost for words. Rather than being celebrated for her contribution to Wales surely she should be villified. Margaret Thatcher more than any politician of the 20th centuary was responsible for untold damage to Wales and the Welsh people. The deindustrialisation of south Wales, the decimation of the mining industry - itself a wholey political act, caused huge damage and misery to thousands of Welsh famalies. The effects of this are still being felt today. Low paid jobs, loss of community, disaffection and drug problems in Wales can be directly linked to Thatchers policies in the 80s. Thatchers political views and aspirations have never been reflected by the electorate of Wales. Therefore her representation in the Welsh assembly building is inappropriate and our assembly members are reprhensible if they sanction this. If you agree please sign this petition.
