"To Sir Paul McCartney Dear Sir, I don’t know if you will ever read this letter, but I decided to write it anyway because I feel the need to express my love and my gratitude to you. I really can’t tell how ridiculous I feel right now, I’m writing a letter to one of the most important man in human history and it feels really good. You sure had received an enormous amount of compliments throughout your gigantic career, and I’m also sure you had read these words before: Thank you Sir! That’s all I can say to you right now. I’m not thanking you only for coming to this little but humble country, I want to say thank you for being with me all the time and for being my inspiration in my short career as a musician. My firsts memories related to music are with The Beatles, I remember myself at my age of 7, sitting in the corner of the kitchen, with some big headphones, listening to a cassette full of songs you wrote. I listened to it every time I felt happy, sad, excited, bored or in any other mood, and that’s what made me so curious about you four, no matter what I felt, there was a Beatles song ready to listen and answer to me, as if they knew what was going on to me. I can clearly remember the day my parents took out the cassette player from me and I was not allowed to listen it any more, they thought I had some social problems or something of the sort because I really couldn’t stop listening to you. Time passed and I grew with you, as I matured I was able to understand some of your lyrics, and I started to share your visions and ideals. I was able to discover a poetic world beside your talented melodies, and that made me realize that music was the most important thing in this world after my family and friends. I found that there’s nothing more unifying in this world of beings in need to unite than music. By that time I had learned by myself how to play the guitar and I started composing some silly love songs. I based my music in what The Beatles did; I thought it was the best idea to follow the steps of my favorite musician in the world I then felt the need of creating a band, so I gathered with my cousin and some friends and started this group called Limbo in which I spend many hours a day. We were able to record three of my songs in one of the biggest recording studio in Montevideo. Last week we uploaded these songs on the internet and we made more than 300 friends on Facebook and our songs were heard more than 800 times in YouTube. I know is not much but those numbers made me feel tremendously proud, and I’m glad to say that you form a huge part of this. When your arrival appeared in the news I just cried, I became so exited and so nervous that I could barely sleep. You made me, my friends and my family and my girlfriend really happy Paul, so thank you for that too. I hope you can understand how the whole country feels about you; you are making this little known country feel special. I don’t want to make you lose more time with this letter, so it’s time to say goodbye. Thank you, thank you, thank you man! And if you ever hear of Limbo in the news just remember this letter and remember I will always admire you sir. You make this world a better place and you’ll be here, there and everywhere because your name is immortal. Thank you for making me believe that everything in the world is possible, and thank you for making true my dream of seeing you live in my own country, I couldn’t be happier.
