Name: Miriam Schroeder on Dec 24, 2006Comments: Dear Dr. Levine, Thank you for your many years of service at the Keck SOM and your commitment to medical student education (including your contributions to my own personal education!). Many congratulations on your exciting new opportunity. I wish you all the best, both now as you begin this new phase of your career/life, and always. I believe one of the most important lessons you demonstrated to us was to be our own authentic, genuine selves as we interact with our patientsFlag

Name: Jacob David on Dec 27, 2006Comments: Your session on how to approach sick patients stands out as one of the most memorable and valuable experiences of my medical school career, and the Heme system in general was one of the best organized and taught. If we cannot convince you to stay, the quality of the education at Keck will surely diminish.Flag

Name: Luis Salazar on Dec 30, 2006Comments: Dear Dr. Levine, I'm so sorry to hear that you will be leaving us. I can honestly say that you were my favorite teacher in my first year of medical school. And to top it off, I was lucky enough to have you as my MDL case teacher! I think what makes you most great is that you take the time to do the little things. You are one of the few professors who actually took the time to learn my name. It doesn't sound like much, but it meant a lot. Your compassion and sincere caring you display for your patients should be the model by which all faculty teach their students. I know it has stuck with me, even while I have seen more examples of physicians who do not display the same sense of empathy. I wish you luck in your future endeavors and I hope that I will run in to you again soon. Sincerely, Luis SalazarFlag
