Comments: When I heard the news, watching the Detroit game of all teams, I stopped and replayed that part of the telecast. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I realize it is probably a great move for you, but that doesn't make it hurt any less. One of the most important attributes that you hold Jiggy is your ability to relate to and interact with your fans. I haven't seen that in our remaining goalie yet. You are such a gentleman, a fantastic goalie, a superb athlete, and a wonderful husband and father. You will be truly missed. Good luck in Toronto! BTW my daughter wants us to get Beauchemin and Giguere Maple Leaf jerseys to wear to the Ducks game!

Comments: JS: Thank you for your work and sharing of yourself here in Orange County. We have enjoyed your presence and gifts and you are an exceptional man, in this age of the self-promoting, self-centered, narcissistic athlete, your star giving and sense of team and community have enriched us all. For all you have given us, we wish you well in your future endeavors. Thanks

Comments: What a run, Jiggy. The past 10 years watching you develop and thrive while playing for the Ducks have been amazing. Your contributions are numerous and you will be deeply missed. You always had such a great attitude, even when you weren't getting the minutes you wanted to play. Thanks for all that you did to make the Ducks who they are today and best of luck to you in Toronto. I run, and whenever "Getting Jiggy With It" comes on by Will Smith I am reminded of you and what you mean to the Ducks -- it often inspires me to keep on running! So keep on playing -- and I look forward to watching you play some games on Center Ice!

Comments: When I started following the Ducks, still very much a neo-fan, and the woman who got me into the sport quizzed me on whether I actually knew the name of any player. J.S. Giguere was my answer (she then asked if I knew what J.S stood for, and I still had the right answer). Watching you play, with such grace and humanity, made me even more of a fan. I am so glad I had the opportunity to see you, both on the ice and the occasional moment in person. The best of luck for the future, for you and your family.

Comments: Jiggy, you will forever be my all time favorite goalie! Not to mention, my all time favorite Duck! You will be greatly missed! Although I am sad to see you go, I hated to see you sitting on the bench, with your talents being wasted. Thank you for all that you have done for the Ducks! You are a truly great goalie, and a wonderful person. I count myself as lucky to have spoken with you a couple of times at Casino Night. You are a truly amiable person. I wish you, and your family, all the best in Toronto, and I will continue to wear your jersey with pride!

Comments: Jiggy! You brought our Anaheim Ducks both excellence and class during your decade here. Under your watch, the impossible happened: the Cup came to Southern California. You helped legitemize So Cal as a place with a serious hockey culture through your achievements, and you will ever remain one of our brightest hockey stars. We thank you and your family for your sacrifices made here, and wish you all the best in the fine city of Toronto. You will be an enormous asset to the Maple Leafs. We will miss you dearly. Much Love, the Hallowells

Comments: Dear Jiggy: Thank you for all the many wonderful memories you have given us Ducks fans over the years. My favorite memories are seeing you lift the Cup (especially after the 2003 finals) and seeing you skate with little Maxime in your arms as the confetti floated to the ice around you. And thank you for always being gracious and patient with the fans and for always being willing to take time to sign that last autograph, or take one more picture, or chat with us. Everyone says hockey players are the friendliest and most accessible professional athletes---you definitely epitomize that. You are a great hockey player and an even better human being with such strength of character; we are fortunate to have had such a great goalie and person representing our team. I am happy for you that you be closer to your family, will re-united with Frankie Allaire in Toronto and will be given the opportunity to once again be the #1 goalie. You deserve this opportunity. Chaleureusement et bien à toi, Karen M.

Comments: Thank you Jiggy for all you've done for the past 10 years with the Ducks. I've always told people: "Jiggy is my favorite goalie in the league and no one is going to beat him out! Of course Hiller comes second. Maybe that's just a little Ducks biased. But Giguere will always be my favorite goalie no matter what happens." This season, some of the best memories of you come out of Training Camp. You and Hiller banging your sticks on the ice as each time one of you made a save. The most memorable is when during the laps, after the scrimmage game. (I was about to go outside of the rink because I had forgotten my jacket and it was cold but I had stopped to watch near the glass, the players do the laps) The biggest memory from that is when Pielmeier was skating, totally oblivious to everything around him. He almost accidentally hit you in the face with his stick. And after that all you did was laugh and had the biggest smile on your face. Also thank you for taking the time to sign for fans after Training Camp! Thank you for signing my Stanley Cup picture! #35 You're always a Duck in the hearts of Ducks fans!

Comments: Mr. Giguere it was an honor to watch you play. While players come-and-go in professional sports, this tribute is a testament to your popularity in Anaheim. it is the rare player that can capture the hearts of the hometown fans and endear themselves forever in their hearts, congratulations on your success. You will always welcome back home… in Anaheim.

Comments: Thank you so much for everything you ever did for the Ducks, for making me a hockey fan, for being not tremendous not only on the ice but off of it as well, for being so classy, and for bringing me and so many others such joy. I met you once at an autograph signing at Anaheim Ice, and you truly were one of the nicest people I have ever met. I wish you nothing but the best of luck with the Toronto Maple Leafs. I really hope they give you the opportunity you so greatly deserve to prove how excellent of a goalie you still are. Your phenomenal play in the 2003 playoffs made me interested in hockey, and you are still an excellent netminder, one of the very best. But it is not only because of your success as an athlete that I have such respect for you. Rather, you are one of my favorite people because of your personality, your (sometimes overly) humble nature, your class, your intelligence, your kindness, your dedication, and so much more. So, once again, good luck in Toronto, with the rest of your career, and your life in general. Finally, congratulations on having such a lovely family!

I never got to meet you or even shake your hand, but I got to see you play plenty of times in the flesh. They were the greatest days of my life, so far. :) The ducks became my team when I saw you play the Wild in 2001 at ExCel Energy Center. You are the reason I love the ducks today and they will remain my team. I wish you luck and will be routing for you, too, in Toronto. It will be hard to see you play for another team. I am glad that you get your playing time again!!!!! Best wishes.

Comments: Simply put: Thank you. You were the heart and soul of the Ducks. The guy who succeeded but had to overcome and fight the odds to do so. The 03 run brought me back to hockey and back to the Ducks, as I'd been a fan since opening night but lost track in college (I had a bad shoulder injury from hockey that led to me keeping staying away from watching or playing). I'd watch the games standing up because I was too excited to sit. My brother would text message me scores when I was in a late class. We saved newspaper headlines, I have a 2003 playoffs towel from the arena. So close that season, and so much overachieving. You carried the team and showed the league that the Ducks were to be taken seriously. I wish you could retire a Duck, but had been hoping you would be traded to a team that would play you. I really enjoyed watching you play this season, I liked your added aggressiveness, and I hope to catch a few of your games in Toronto. Thank you for your hard work, inspiration, and class. Byron

I've actually gone back in time through DVDs and relived those ducks moments as i wasn't following hockey when they happened, yet i can feel the emotion through the tv screen. It was early in my introduction to Ducks hockey that I watched you backstop the Ducks to the Stanley Cup finals in 2003, and I remember being just as impressed with your character as I was with your amazing performance on the ice--and especially in watching you receive the Conn Smythe trophy at the end. And of course the 2007 season, with all the personal ups and downs for you, is one I'll never forget. You were such an important and memorable part of that experience for me, and for every fan I know. I'll miss seeing you in a Ducks uniform, and I hope the fans in Toronto have the good sense to appreciate what a treasure you are! You'll always have a special place here in Anaheim.
