111th Congress, 1st Session Washington, DC 20515 Dear Honorable Members of the One Hundred Eleventh United States Congressional Body: We, the undersigned, members and friends of BBYO, the world's leading pluralistic Jewish teen movement, would like to sincerely thank you for passing the Edward M. Kennedy Service America Act on March 26th, 2009. Your compassion and faith in today's youth and our abilities to make a difference in our local, national, and international community reminds us that our work has and will not go unnoticed. We are enthused about our future endeavors, especially now that we have your invigorated support. From strengthening the grant support of the non-profit sector, aiding organizations like ours, to providing funding opportunities for our local projects incites us to put our differences aside and come together to truly make an impact in our communities and in our nation. We have recently completed our Jewish Day of Service with a program called J-Serve on April 26th, 2009, and as a united force of 10,000 teens, we hope that we were able to make a dent, no matter how small, in bettering our communities. We also know that service is not a one-time event, but rather a life-long commitment. We will continue to serve, advocate, and raise funds for our communities through our work with BBYO while we are in high school, throughout our college experiences, and as adults in the world. Your support of our commitment to bettering the world is helping us to form the life-long habit and Jewish Value of giving back to the community through Tikkun Olam, repairing the world. Again, we would like to express our gratitude for your continued and improved support for community service, advocacy, and social action. We promise to be just as committed to serving the greater good in the future as we are now. Sincerely,
