Thanks for reappointing Michele Bachmann to the House Intel Committee

Thank you for reappointing Rep. Michele Bachmann to a seat on the House Intelligence Committee. Now more than ever, America needs a woman of Rep. Bachmann's character, integrity and judgment on the committee charged with overseeing the various national security threats we face -- and the performance of the Intelligence Community in monitoring, warning about and helping to counter them.

Foremost among these is the danger posed by jihadists seeking our destruction and the imposition worldwide of the brutally repressive Islamic doctrine they call shariah. In the past two years, we have seen the ascendancy of these forces in the Mideast and North Africa. Congress needs among its watchmen -- and women -- legislators like Rep. Bachmann who have become deeply knowledgeable and highly articulate about this threat.

That is all the more true insofar as the Obama administration's policies have contributed to the legitimating, empowering, underwriting and even, in some cases, the arming of these Islamists. We urge you to ensure that the House Intelligence Committee vigorously investigates the legitimate questions posed last June by Reps. Bachmann, Louie Gohmert, Trent Franks, Lynn Westmoreland and Tom Rooney concerning the extent to which individuals employed by or advising the administration who have documented ties to the Muslim Brotherhood have been involved in the adoption of such dangerous policies.
