The Signees of this petition support the contents of the Open Letter written by the Ville Marie  physicians and published on March 12th 2011  reproduced in our email and  as summarized  as follows:
In order to avoid delaying access to new and very costly medical technology, it is urgent for the Public Health System to be transparent and clearly define what they can realistically afford to fund, otherwise it will be impossible to conciliate the physicians’ obligation to provide best care on the one hand, and what the government can actually fund on the other. It is urgent to stop giving false impressions that the Public health System is actually funding “covered” services when such is not the case. We should instead be urgently exploring new solutions so that specialized Community-based Medical Centers can continue to uphold their standards of care while evolving within the Public Health System.
