TELL MINNESOTA AUTO DEALERS TO STOP INTERFERING WITH TESLA'S RIGHT TO DO BUSINESS IN THE STATE.

Tesla Motors, a U.S.-based manufacturer of zero-emission, all-electric premium passenger automobiles, recently announced that it plans to establish sales and service centers in the Twin Cities. The Tesla presence will create at least 30 high-tech salaried jobs, generate significant tax revenues for Minnesota, and enhance our state's image as an environmental leader. Tesla, like many other high-tech companies, sells directly to its customers online or in company-owned sales centers.

However, if the Minnesota Auto Dealers Association (MADA) has its way, Tesla won't be offering its cars for sale to environmentally savvy consumers any time soon. In the 2013 Minnesota legislative session, MADA tried--and failed--to pass legislation to change state law in order to keep Tesla out.

Now the association is threatening legal action to stop the manufacturer, even though Tesla's direct sales approach is completely consistent with current state law. If legal action doesn't work, MADA may introduce hostile legislation again next year.

Tesla's all-electric vehicles are 21st century cars, and the company has chosen a 21st century business model to bring them to consumers. This company would be a great addition to Minnesota's business community.

Please sign this petition urging MADA to stop interfering with competition, consumer choice and business growth by challenging Tesla's right to do business in Minnesota. Help us keep Minnesota's doors open to clean, green technology companies.
