Double Pay for TESCO employees on Sundays and Bank Holidays

The petition

To all Tesco Employees and Tesco Shoppers,

Currently, any staff who work overtime on a Sunday or a Bank Holiday recieve time + £1 for their services. Obviously, staff are not obliged to work on these days, but it certainly helps top up the bank. But why should we work these extra hours for such a measly thank you when the company recieve such a high profit every year? Because the premium rate is so low, staff are refusing to do the hours and as a result, the assistance avalible to customers is becoming less and less, which will eventually result in a decline of profits for Tesco.

The petition urges that Tesco Employees premium rate pay be raised back up to double time.

Anyone who shops in Tesco will begin the see the benifit on Weekends and Bank Holidays when more staff are on hand to help.
