Feedback has been left via the general Tesco customer service email address by customers (no response at all) and now via Twitter the official answer is that there are "no plans at the moment to increase the number of bike racks“.
Cyclists regularly use this Tesco store so why have Tesco removed half of their available parking? To restore what was there previously would be a start, but this even couldn't accommodate all the bicycles from customers wanting to shop at this Tesco.

Seeing so many local riders finally feeling heard is honestly surreal because I kept staring at those empty bike racks wondering if I was the only one losing it over the lack of space. It is pretty wild how quickly this whole thing took off once people realized they weren't the only ones chaining their bikes to random street signs and benches outside the store.

Ridiculous decision. I cycle there every saturday and end up locking my bike to a pole half a mile away just to get milk.
SERIOUSLY what were they thinking? teddington is full of cyclists. put the racks back!
seen bikes left everywhere now it looks such a mess. simple fix tesco just install more racks!
Why do they hate cyclists so much? stop making it impossible to shop local.
It is a nightmare trying to find a spot since the refurb. Just makes people drive instead which is surely the opposite of what they want.

Had to leave my bike on the fence yesterday because everything was full. very poor planning.
