Located in New Windsor, NY, Squire Village is the home of hundreds of residents that own vehicles. Squire Village does not provide adequate parking to accommodate for the resident/ vehicle ratio. There is at least; one to two car owners per house hold and not enough parking spots. No one has a designated parking spot/number. There are only two visitor parking spots in the lot shared by buildings 41, 42, 43, and 44. To resolve parking issues, Squire Village has opted to assign parking permits. Anyone without a permit can and will be towed. Squire Village has a contract with Pat’s Towing and does not however control when they tow vehicles. Vehicles can be towed all throughout the day.

We therefore are requesting the termination of towing in Squire Village. There are not enough visitor parking spots assigned, nor are there personal spots assigned. For a tow truck to tow a vehicle in the middle of the day, is absurd. Residents might be running errands and might need to park their car in front of their building. Residents might have visitors and the only two spots available, may or may not be available to their visitors.
