Name: Edward Vance on Nov 7, 2007Comments: Please note that the corresponding email below was sent to Mr. Carter White Mr. White, I find it disturbing that the zoning commission would consider allowing any rezoning that would have such a harmful impact on a community. As I am sure the county is aware, Temple Terrace Highway and the surrounding neighborhood streets already have an unbearable amount of traffic causing the roads to be unsafe for neighborhood residents, most of all children. As reported by the Metropolitan Planning Organization for Transportation more than 26,000 autos occupied the accompanying road on any given day in 2005. Now that nearby Highway 301 is complete I would have to imagine that number has increased since that time. It has been said that the projected increase anticipated just by rezoning is an additional 20,000. How could this possibly be safe For the past ten plus years the county as a whole (especially the county commissioners) has disregarded proper planning of infrastructure as mandated by the state (when left in the hands of the county) which has made places such as New Tampa, South Brandon, Riverview and so on agonizing places to drive much less live. The ill conceived idea that this property should be rezoned so that developers may continue to decide the future of Florida rather than the residents is atrocious. Having to work more than full time and the parent of two school age children it is challenging to find the time to have to find research to justify what local residents already much less find the time to attend meetings that should not be necessary. I ask that you pass this along to those that are the decision makers and that they please take this to heart.Flag

Name: Peter Bates on Nov 10, 2007Comments: Even though a Home Depot sounds tempting to me, I think that this development would make beautiful, peaceful Temple Terrace into another fast food city. The traffic is bad enough already, what really needs to be redeveloped is the area surrounding Busch and 56th Street, it has no character whatsoever, nothing to state 'This is Temple Terrace'.Flag

Name: Peter Kaye on Nov 11, 2007Comments: I am opposed to this plan. There is plenty of available retail space in Temple Terrace already. The shopping center at the apex of TT Hwy and Harney is only 60% full and has been that way for over a year. There is no infrastructure to support such a development, not will it benefit the current population in that area.Flag

Name: Robert Wood on Nov 13, 2007Comments: My name is Robert Wood, I've lived in Temple Terrace for over 37 years. This is another bad idea for Temple Terrace. This is not the Temple Terrace the Mayor Fee and Judge Borden envisioned. A beautiful small city that wants to stay beautiful . Leave it to Tampa to destroy their land and trees. We really don't need to turn this area in to another Hillsbough av. Please do not allow this happen. Respectfully Robert WoodFlag

Do not burden us with MORE traffic than this road can handle on an ordinary day. It's obvious to me and my family that NO traffic study was done in advance of the apartments that were built near Lamplighter moble home park. Enough is enough!!!Flag

Name: Renee ONeil on Nov 20, 2007Comments: To build 'discount' centers at the proposed location would add to the deterioration of our home values. I am in favor of growth if it is done in an upscale fashion promoting new urbanism concepts- pedestrian friendly, no big boxes and utiliaztion of existing mature tress, while creating a live work play destination.Flag
