We condemn the decision of the NUT national executive not to call strike action in defense of teachers' pay this term. It is appalling that in the face of the biggest attack on our pay that there has ever been, the executive has again chosen to hesitate and delay rather than to fight.
We demand that at the next NEC meeting on the 28th February, the union calls strike action. We call on delegates to the national conference in March, to fight to commit the union to a program of strike action in order to beat Gove’s plans for our pay.
