the council finally gave us the green light for the cctv installation in the subway. i am so grateful for all of you who backed this because we actually made it happen. keep an eye out for when the cameras officially go live.

Final supporters
Recent events along the Telfer Subway have really highlighted the need for CCTV coverage.
Its quite clear that there is a very specific problem along this location - and, at the moment, the Police need to depend on CCTV from surrounding shops, which don't adequately cover the sight-line of the actual subway.
There really is a need here for a dedicated camera monitoring the pathway --- please sign the petition to call on the Local Council to install CCTV in the Telfer Subway. Thank you.

I work near here. Going home after working late this is a short cut, but so far I've had two youths attempt to throw a fence post with nails in it onto me from the top of the underpass as I entered it, had a guy shoot up & be sick in front of me, & another harass me for money/ other stuff. it's a scary place.The graffiti is also frequently disturbing in the extreme; however many times it's cleaned off it's replaced by something worse.
Too many stories about people getting mugged down there. Stopped using it after dark months ago. Needs cameras asap.
UTTERLY DISGUSTING PLACE. I walk my dog through there in the morning and its always full of broken glass and needles. sort it out council.
my daughter uses this path for school and i hate it. shes scared to walk through it alone because of the creeps hanging around the entrance.
bout time someone did something about this. used to be fine but its gone down hill fast.
