Name: Anonymous on Feb 15, 2012Comments: The IRFU has completely undermined the Irish Women’s Rugby Team by treating them in a less favourable fashion when compared to their male counterparts. These girls give everything to representing their country and anybody who has seen them play knows how proud they are to wear that green jersey. It is about time the IRFU woke up and started treating this national team with the respect they deserve. Ireland has developed so much over the past few seasons that one has to question what they could achieve should the IRFU actually provide them with the necessary resources. These girls deserve so much better and I hope that the IRFU will soon start to realise this.Flag

Name: Tanya O'Sullivan on Feb 15, 2012Comments: "I have a Dream ...." are the words that once ignited a nation to free people from inequality.  I too once had a dream to play rugby and thanks to the voluntary time of some outstanding coaches and the wiliness of a club to open their doors to a women's team. I have to opportunity to achieve that dream.  Inequality is faced by players at different levels and in different ways. Attitudes encountered vary from people believing women are entitled to play the game the same as men, to others who want nothing to do with a women's team. The IRFU should promote rugby to ALL as it is a sport that brings great joy to many.  IRFU are ambassadors of the sport for every player who wears a jersey at local, regional and national level.  Ireland has in the past looked to England for national policy frameworks, at this time it would be great for the IRFU to follow the lead of England and give the same standards to the Irish women's team that the English team get. Best of luck to those who have the great honour of playing for Ireland.ÂFlag

They are INTERNATIONAL players and should be treated as such! The IRFU need to do more regarding women's rugby, not in a few years time, but NOW!Flag
