The petition

To the Malta Broadcasting Authority

The aim after this petition is to express disgust and disagreement at the way that the Malta Broadcasting Authority (MBA) is indirectly trying to stop ONE Tv's TELETUBI (produced by Zoo Media and Entertainment) from being aired on TV, by constantly fining the producers of such a show.

According to the MBA, the language used during TeleTubi is too vulgar for a satirical show. For more than once, the MBA fined the Tv station and the producers of TeleTubi more than EUR1100.
Being fined almost every week is a financial obstacle for the producers of TeleTubi, and as a result, it will stop being produced.

The programme is rated "AO" (18+) and is aired after 22:30; vulgar words are censcored with "bleeps". Still, the MBA finds TeleTubi too much vulgar.

The major concern is that despite living in 2008, with all the "freedom of expression" that we boast about, certain people who are in some way "powerful" (the MBA by charging fines) want to influence what the local TV viewers watch on their TV screens.
This is not acceptable in a democratic country! Through this online petition, those who sign this petition, are expressing their disgust at the way that the MBA is handling this matter.
