Sign this petition if you want DeKalb County take action to secure then tear down the abandoned Villa Circle apartments in Decatur 30030. These apartments, off Craigie Avenue in unincorporated DeKalb, were once on track for a massive redevelopment. But all work stopped more than a year ago and squatters have taken over and live illegally at the property. What's more, the buildings have four separate owners, the majority of which may be in foreclosure with banks. As a result, these apartments are affecting the safety of Dekalb County citizens and taxpayers. The neighborhood is home to many young children and they could wander in and injure themselves, or worse if the buildings and broken security fence is not FIXED. These properties owners -- or their bankers -- should be held accountable. For the safety of our children, communities surrounding the Villa Circle apartments are in favor of securing and then tearing down these apartments.
