Texas physicians and environmental organizations are petitioning the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality to reduce smog-forming pollutants from the three old Luminant coal plants to the same level required of the newer plants. For those of us who live in Dallas-Fort Worth and in East Texas, these plants have a significant impact on our community’s public health. These new rules are essential in protecting our health. Please add my name to those signing the TCEQ petition for Docket No. 2013-1612-RUL.

Thank you.

The silence from the commission is frustrating but I am still spending my evenings sorting through the stories you all have shared about your health. We are fighting a massive system that expects us to just get tired and walk away. I am exhausted by this process but I have no intention of stopping now.

I believe respiratory illnesses are escalating in Northeast Texas. Anything that can be done to reduce air pollution can only help decrease these problems.

Living in DFW for 20 years and the haze is real. Quit letting these old plants pollute our lungs for free.
