Comments: Apart from Being the first purpose built television studios in the world, the history, and the sentiment aside. The need for studio space in London is there. The BBC needs TVC to be its flagship space, in the Capital, not a carved up shadow of its former self.

Comments: all the studio complex should be saved as it is very well equipped and far better that more recently designed studio complexes in an ideal location. The BBC could still get the £200 Million by selling off parts of the site other than the studios themselves.

Comments: This is the best studio for Light Entertainment and comedy after TC 3. TVC needs two good studios. TC 1 is only good for spectaculars like "Strictly"

Comments: TC8 is one of the best and most versatile television studios at TV Centre, and in the country. It is immediately adjacent to listed parts of the building, and could, therefore, easily be preserved.

Comments: The dismantling of probably the finest studio centre in the world is dismaying in itself but the loss of viable studio space of the size of TC8 is short-sighted in the extreme.

Comments: I really cannot understand the mentality of those who are behind the sell-off of TV Centre. Undeniably the best equipped television production facility in the UK, if not Europe and the rest of the World as well - it really does amount to insanity in getting rid of it.

Comments: TC8 is probably the most popular of the BBC TV Centre studios with all who work there. It has a certain atmosphere about it - difficult to define but nevertheless there. It has been home to some of the most successful TV programmes the BBC has ever made. To close it would be a great tragedy and a huge loss to the industry

Comments: As an organisation that deals with television history, the Alexandra Palace Television Society has a number of members that transferred to Television Centre from Alexandra Palace. These members speak fondly of their time at TVC, and what an amazing building it is. The layout of TVC allows the building to be used n the most cost effective way - if it were managed properly! The preservation of TC8 is just as important as TC1-3, and the rest of the listed building. Simon Vaughan Archivist For and on behalf of Alexandra Palace Television Society
