Name: Andy Hitchman on Mar 13, 2011Comments: I too agree this is a huge disappointment. We were expecting the shops this summer, then were told they'd be delayed a further year. Now to learn they may not even be installed is a joke. It amazes me the rate at which a whole street will go up - what is the hold up with one local shop?Flag

Name: Pamela Ruffman on Mar 13, 2011Comments: It was understood at the time of buying my property that shops would be provided within the development to serve the development and surrounding areas. In the absence of such shops people invariably get into their cars to drive along the already busy A33 to get to the nearest shops. I am certain that most of the residents would use and benefit from good local shops without which the development appears to be isolated and does not do Croudace, the developer, any credit in view of their initial representations on this matter.Flag

Name: Mrs Muriel Wooden on Mar 14, 2011Comments: Very disappointed at the lack of a local shop on this development which was emphasised as a major attraction together with local community centre when I purchased my property some 3 years ago. When showing a friend and prospective purchaser round the site recently she flatly refused to even consider buying a house here without the provision of a local shop.Flag

Name: Val Hitchman on Mar 16, 2011Comments: I am a pensioner recently moved into Taylor's Farm and I know there are a lot of other elderly people living here. BUT one of my considerations was the close proximity to a shop for my daily needs. I am strongly disapproving of the suggestion that the shops will be delayed indefinitely.Flag

Name: Jo Painell on Mar 18, 2011Comments: I personally think its incredible that a development this size already does not have a shop in place for the residents. I for one would use it most weeks as find it a hassle with young kids to get in the car and drive to Tesco's for a few bits when I could walk down the road and get what I need from a local shop. I really hope that this petition encourages the powers that be to implement a shop asap. We are already a school down lets hope we wont lose the shops too.Flag

Name: Nathan English on Mar 18, 2011Comments: A small local store is all that would be required. It would not only provide the 1,000 homes with a quick-stop for newspapers and essentials but would also cut down on traffic around the estate as less people would need to drive further afield for small errands.Flag

Name: Rhiannon English on Mar 18, 2011Comments: The presence of a shop was a selling point when we bought our property. Having to get in the car to pick up the odd bottle of milk, especially with a small child, is quite an inconvenience. A shop within walking distance would be very usefull.Flag

Name: Fiona Hooper on Mar 18, 2011Comments: It's not just a convenience store that is badly needed but also a health centre and primary school. There are a huge number of young families living here and these amenities would hugely benefit the residence of Sherfield Park aswell as reducing the inevitable stretch that this large and growing development will undoubtably be putting on other local facilities.Flag

Name: Emma Charlotte Molyneux on Mar 21, 2011Comments: This causes extreme inconvenience, unnecessary journeys and I would not have moved here had I known the promised sevices would not materialise. Its bad enough that we suffer a relentless steam of trade vehicles and huge lorries, all day and now even on saturdays. The noise pollution and dirt is digusting.Flag
