We concerned parents of Polo Ridge students have joined together to bring forth our real and ongoing grievance regarding one of your teachers. The undersigned all have students in Ms. Martha Taylor’s 4th grade class. Over the past few weeks, it has become evident that our individual concerns about our own children are shared almost universally by the other parents of Ms. Taylor’s students. 

Our children, most of whom love school, have recently complained about the environment in her classroom. They are stressed, unhappy and are even asking about home schooling. Stories of Ms. Taylor’s demeaning attitude, unclear expectations and lack of follow-up have become a recurring theme at dinner tables around the community. 

We understand each teacher brings his or her own unique style, experience and individuality to the classroom. We respect Ms. Taylor’s years of devotion to this often under-appreciated field. However, the time to “let things settle down and see what happens” is over. We hereby request that you formally intervene. Whether the situation demands observation, counseling or reprimand – or a combination thereof – we leave to your judgment. 

Please take appropriate action. We the undersigned parents will be happy to share our thoughts with you and help in any way we can. You have our support. We look forward to a favorable outcome and a successful school year for everyone involved.
