Name: Joseph D. Carbone on May 4, 2007Comments: It time the SWR BOE starts doing what is right and accept the 35.8 million dollars under the terms in the legislation and further controls future spending. They are the first line in making Long Island affordable to live here.Flag

Name: Marie Puma on May 4, 2007Comments: this superintendent and her board are clueless. They are driven by self interest and greed and their motto is spend, spend, spend. Declining this offer from the Senator is their biggest folly to date.Flag

Name: LAURIE LOGAN on May 4, 2007Comments: IT IS TIME FOR THE SWRBOE TO BE HELD ACCOUTABLE TO THIS SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR THEIR ABSURD SPENDTHRIFT HABITS, AND TO DO WHAT IS TRULY IN THE BEST INTEREST OF OUR CHILDREN. DESPITE ANNUAL SCHOOL TAX INCREASES, OUR TEST SCORES HAVE REMAINED AT AN EMBARRASSING LEVEL.WHICH IS IN COMPLETE CONTRADICTION TO THE BOEs CLAIM THAT MORE MONEY WILL BUY A BETTER EDUCATION FOR OUR CHILDREN. IF THIS WERE TRUE, ROCKY POINT SD, WITH IT'S LOWER SCHOOL TAX RATE, WOULD NOT CONSISTENTLY HAVE HIGHER TEST SCORES. I AM NOT WILLING TO DENY MY CHILDREN THINGS THEY WANT SIMPLY TO ENABLE A LAZY SUPERINTENDENT TO HIRE A MIRIAD OF UNQUALIFIED PEOPLE TO DO HER JOB. IT IS DISGRACEFUL THE WAY THIS BOARD AND OUR SUPERINTENDENT WASTE OUR HARD EARNED DOLLARS. MY CHILDREN ARE WORTH MUCH MORE THAN THIS BOE/SUPERINTENDENTS ARE CAPABLE OF GIVING THEM. THEREFORE, I, ALONG WITH MANY OTHERS, WILL BE SHOOTING DOWN YOUR BLOATED BUDGET. AND UNLESS IT'S CUT IN HALF, WE WILL BE ON A CONTINGENCY COME SEPTEMBER. NO BIG DEAL. ALL THAT MEANS IS THAT COPEL MAY HAVE TO FIRE SOME OF HER UNQUALIFIED MINIONS, AND, gasp,MAY HAVE TO SURVIVE WITH HER OFFICE FURNITURE FOR ANOTHER YEAR.Flag

Name: Eileen Marfoglio on May 4, 2007Comments: It is about time people have gotten together to get this done. I have been in this district for over 20 yrs. And I should be receiving this money back not the new people they have not paid what we have in these years. The people here need to know that you need to watch the spending on all areas, not to just increase the budjet. It is like your household bills you have to watch what you spend so why not the school.WAKE UP PEOPLEFlag
