Taxi services are viewed as a premium transportation service; as it allows commuters to get to their destination directly, unlike public transport where the commuter will still need to find another means to reach their final destination. There are currently no systems in place that allows taxi drivers to have a designated pick up and drop off location around the main streets of a city/suburb centre.

The undersigned petitioners therefore ask the Legislative Assembly to:

Note to take such legislative action as may amend the Road Rules to permit taxis to stop for the express purpose of picking-up or setting-down of passengers with ''No Stopping'' Zones and ''Bus Zones'', where and when it is safe to do so, but not for the purpose of ranking or awaiting passengers.

- Sharing of the ''Bus Zone'' signage with a Taxi Excepted Zone (Pick up and Drop off point only). In general, taxi drivers find it is very beneficial if the taxi picking up and dropping off restrictions at Bus Zones to be share with Taxi Zones if buses aren't in service.

Taxi Drivers request to sensibly change the law and enable them to provide passengers with a better service for their requirements, without the risk of being exposed to a fine.
