Pin Oak Parkway poses an immediate danger to the pedestrians and motorist in our neighborhood at the intersection of Peachtree Ct/Lane. Most cars are coming into and leaving the neighborhood are exceeding the 25 mph speed limit. We are risking our lives daily when walking our dogs, strolling our babies, taking our walks and the motorist coming from Peachtree Ct have a MAJOR blind spot at that intersection. We call it Pin Oak "Raceway"! Peachtree Ln/Ct is a central bus stop for the High, Middle and Elementary Schools. Most of the buses stop directly on Pin Oak Pkwy which means all the children on Peachtree Ct has to cross Pin Oak Pkwy to catch the bus; against the blind spot, most times in the dark while dodging the excessive speeds of the vehicles. On 10/11/11 at 6:30am a teenager who lives on Peachtree Ct was hit by a vehicle while crossing the street to her bus stop. It is very difficult getting on Pin Oak Pkwy from Peachtree Ct., while driving our vehicles so it’s twice as hard on foot. The lighting is also inappropriate in that area for the children catching the bus in the early morning darkness. There have been two separate vehicle accidents in the intersection in which both cars were speeding down Pin Oak Parkway and lost control which resulted in one car flipping into the yard of a neighbor and the other hit a tree in the same yard. There has also been at least one 2 vehicle accident because of the blind spot and the speed of the vehicle leaving out on Pin Oak Pkwy. A motorcyclist lose control of his bike and flip into a tree coming down Pin Oak Pkwy because of his speed. There are also 2 children who live in the Peachtree Ct cul-de-sac with Autism. These children like to escape from their homes and most have no concept of crossing the street. It would be detrimental if one of them were to escape and end up on Pin Oak Pkwy. It is envitable that we sign this partition to protect the lives of our neighbors. We need 80% of the neighbors to agree in order to get speed bumps at Peachtree Ct/Ln intersection. Please complete by COB November 4.
