Working alongside young women, Equal Voice, an organization dedicated to promoting women in politics, calls on young women to make their mark on the 2011 federal election. How? EV invites you to help us BEAT THESE AVERAGES: Only 37% of young people voted in the last federal election. Only 22% of Members of Parliament elected were women. 1.6 % (5) are women under the age of 40. You can change that. How? COMMIT. COMMIT TO: CAST YOUR VOTE : Show up at a voting booth on May 2. LEAD THE WAY: Take 3 of your friends to the polls with you. Spread the word about women in politics. Join an EV chapter in your community/province. RUN TO REPRESENT: Think about running yourself in an upcoming election: student council, school board trustee, university government, etc. Invite EV to do a campaign school in your area.
